AC/DC World Tour Comes To A Close

AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour took the rockers across the globe for 20 months to perform for over 5 million people in 108 cities in over 28 countries.  It finally came to a close, June 28th in Bilboa, Spain.

With their music clearly standing the test of time, AC/DC’s tour takes the crown for the highest grossing tour, globally, for the first half of 2010.  1.8 million tickets were sold, grossing a total of $177.5 million globally to rockers beat out Bon Jovi, Metallica, James Taylor and Carole King and the Black Eyed Peas.  This is quite an accomplishment since the touring in North America is at its lowest since 2005.

AC/DC autobiography hits shelves in July

While you might expect to hear more about AC/DC tickets or tour dates in the news–especially since they are currently touring overseas–this week’s AC/DC buzz is all about a book.

“Rockers and Rollers: An Automotive Autobiography” by Brian Johnson is an autobiography that gives fans a firsthand glimpse into AC/DC and Johnson’s passion for cars. Johnson has been the lead singer for AC/DC since 1980 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

“Rockers And Rollers,” featuring tales of mayhem, motors and debauchery by AC/DC’s front man will be out in paperback on July 29.
